Interesting article, thanks for sharing the link.
I checked it out yesterday (friendster.com) and
decided it might result in spam if one joins but otherwise
an interesting arena that I didn't know anything
about.

Danah, what excellent coverage of your and your work. Congratulations.

Pink?

I reclaimed pink a while back. My hair was pink; my room is pink. I have way too many pink hats, wigs, boas, wings, etc. None of it was ever soft and subtle, but in-your face ridiculous pink. A little overwhelming; a lot fun. A dear friend of mine is nicknamed "Rules with Pink Fist" and there's a certain amount of applicability to my pinkness.

Over Halloween, i decided to die my hair to match my outfit and it turned out a bit more pink than i thought was appropriate for the NYTimes photo so an amazing hairdresser in SF named Betsey "the hair goddess" fixed it to a more neutral state of orangish-red.

For those who know me in RL, i'm an explosion of color, fur and feathers (as is my room... although it has more books than fur or feathers).

Great article. As a fellow Grad Student working on his dissertation left me full of envy ;-). Btw, I noticed the link is the kind that dies in a week. Maybe you want to use the NY Times link generator for blogs, so that it may last forever and ever. I used it for the first time just yesterday, so I can't tell if it really works.
