Douglas Bowman asks "Who/Where Are the Women?"

Douglas Bowman, a writer and developer active in the web standards/web design field, asks in his blog "Who/Where are the women?"

A chorus of answers has appeared in the comments, with names and links--some great additions for our sidebar, as well. (Will try to do that later this weekend.)

Hee! I read that article linked from kottke and came running(well, clicking) straight over here to use this site as a reference! :-)

And I wonder how much more credence this question will be given because it's posed by a man, rather than a woman?

Liz: you beat me to it, making this post.

Shelley: I wondered the same thing.

Liz, my pardon, and I know this is offtopic, but I know with this one you wouldn't mind.

I was reminded today of what's important when Chris Corrigan wrote in my comments about the Massacre of Montreal, which I hadn't thought of in years.

So caught up in talking about why women aren't more visible when in 1989 in Montreal several women were murdered because they were engineers of technology.

How can I have forgotten this anniversary.
