My Desk

Halley's desk Kaye Trammell is making a nice collection of pix of where we blog.

Here's mine. My teapot, my teacup, my pansies, my pencils, my mouse ...
my Sony Vaio didn't make it into the picture.

No coasters eh?

Maybe that purplish ring around the bottom of your cup is a coaster, but probably not. Certainly looks as though there's nothing under the teapot - isn't it a bit warm?

I'd venture to say that you can bid goodbye to the finish on your desk. Ouch.

Is that an old Home Grocer mousepad?

It's like an apparition... like the stand-in, the distrbuted gravestone of that bizarre moment in our recent past. And the steeping tea just deepens the irony, with its intimations of patience and timing.

Ah, those days of instant caffeination, when we pretended that the bergamot was a sign of refinement, not just zealous parrafin.

The bi-lingual ni.vu.ni.connu has been doing this for a while. Check out her 'coin carnet':

So neat and beautiful. I look around me with a small gasp of horror!

I have a teapot on my desk too! It's so funny to think of
someone doing the same. The flowers are great. I do that
too, weather permiting.

Is that Earl Grey? :)

I too felt a poignant tug on my heart as I viewed your "peach" mousepad--I loved Home Grocer! I even had a peach party and netted some great free groceries! I met a friend of yours, Cheryl Vanick. She modestly told me she has edited an exercise book. In the same breath, I modestly told her I edited a friend's book for self-publishing. Thanks for the introduction to blogging--seems like fun. I have set a goal to free-lance edit when I retire, but have no idea how to set about it. I've taken a couple of extension courses at UCLA. Any other suggestions? Do you really live in Boston?? I live in LA, not far from Cheryl. Talk to you soon. Marie (AKA Loretta)
