Where are the women?

Shelley, of Burningbird, has started a wiki page to collect 'Where are the women?' posts:

The topic of "Where are the women" in weblogging, specifically among technology and political weblog circles, pops up again and again, usually on a three month cycle, more or less. Each time someone looks around him, scratches his head, and then writes a post more or less titled, "Where are the women".

btw, Shelley is looking for more women contributors for her IT Kitchen project. IT Kitchen is "an open participatory clinic", mostly focused on weblogging. The 5th November session, 'Salt and Pepper', looks very interesting indeed:

  • Are there ethics in weblogging? Rules and regs, or is this the ultimate free environment?
  • What are the taboo topics? Work? Family?
  • Should weblogs only be limited by law?
  • Accountability and the weblogger
  • You can say that here, but should you?
  • Making money in the weblogs — weblogging and commercialization
  • Sex sells — using sex in weblogs
  • Ads, subscriptions, tip jars, paid content, corporate sponsorship
  • Yeah, just where are the women

What a great idea. I have a whole list of women bloggers on our site. Another list can be found at Ms. Magazine's blog.

    Best Wishes!

I'm also looking for tech topic female bloggers.
I've started up a brand new intro blog on HDTV, written by women for women
and would love to hook into a community (its lonely out here).
Would love even more to hook up with any female techies going to the CES!
