Gina's tech advice: Lifehacker
Gina Trapani is editor of the newly-launched, Lifehacker, a sponsored weblog from Gawker. Dedicated to recommending "the downloads, web sites and shortcuts that actually save time", it seems a natural development of the How to fix Mom's computer riff that attracted the BBC's attention shortly after Christmas. The posts up there so far range from How to make a poster-sized photo collage to Spybot Search & Destroy crushes evil.
Coming from the micro-publishing house that recently boasted of its testosterone trio, this weblog seems more targeted to the time-pressured computer user, possibly even Genevieve Bell's Technology Involved Female ("While women have embraced technology as a useful tool in their daily lives to multi-task, stay organized and keep in touch, they are less tolerant of poor experiences - women are busy and want technology to work well right from the start.")
