BlogHer Conference

The BlogHer Conference has been announced and registration is currently open. I want to see this conference be as diverse as possible - diverse along every axes imaginable. I need your help in organizing women bloggers from around the world with a million perspectives to attend. I'm also interested in adding things to the conference that will meet the needs of different types of women. For me, the goal of this conference is to build social solidarity amongst women. If you have ideas, please let me know.

But please spread the word. The key to success for this event is to get as many different women on board as possible.

There are some scholarships available and i'm hoping that we can find ways to fly women around the world in. Also, if you have any leads to making this possible, please let me know!

"I want to see this conference be as diverse as possible - diverse along every axes imaginable. (http://yakushitsu.blogspot.com/2005/02/scent-of-woman.html will give you a heads-up.) Because I, for one, would love to attend the BlogHer conference, but I don't particularly relish the thought of flying 6,000 miles from the UK to get the cold shoulder treatment! :-)

Koan - i'd be *stoked* to have you come and 1) i promise that you won't get the cold shoulder from me; 2) i'll work up my butch energy to kick the ass of anyone who gives you shit. No one ever has the right to say you aren't a woman. Period.

:-) Fair enough! Although, trust me, I don't expect other people to kick ass on my behalf... I'm more than capable of doing that myself. Put it this way; *I* think I've as much right as anyone else to attend, and I certainly have a perspective on (and appreciation of) womanhood that I certainly don't take for granted. So, barring work or schedule snafus, I'll be there.

In all my work with my universities LGBT out Sexual Diversity
Studies (I get to brag that I helped arrange a packed lecture for Judith Halberstam!) program I found that our transgendered community were
always brought the most interesting stuff to the table in terms
of blasting frames, genderfucking, and everything else. I hope that Blogher can count "past two" (FYI - "Counting past two [genders]" was the name of a
transgender film fest we had here in TO. I add my voice in support
of a transgender friendly conference. I'm also a big supporter
of whore culture so it would be great if we could get some
sex writer bloggers. I know for a fact that Tristan Taormino is now
blogging ... as is Susie Bright. Hmmm.... would be nice to add
some not-so-vanilla women bloggers to the mix ;->

OMG - i had no idea that Tristan was now blogging - SWEEEEEET. I've definitely written to my cam girl and sex worker friends about coming so i wouldn't be surprised to see the whore culture present. I certainly love those girls.
